Jason Cherry drove for Shea Racing last year in the TCA class of the Pirelli World Challenge and finished 4th in the championship. For 2015, Jason will be driving in the TC class for Skullcandy Team Nissan. Here are Jason’s answers to 5 Questions:
1. Who is your toughest competitor on the track?
There is an abundance of talent in TC this year. With that being said, I think my toughest competition will be Jeff Altenburg. He will be driving the HPA Motorsports Volkswagen and I highly respect him as a competitor and friend.
2. Outside of motorsports, what is your favorite sport to watch?
I don’t particularly care to watch any sports other than racing, but if I had to pick one I’d say field hockey. After going to all of my girlfriend’s games this past year I have come to appreciate the sport.
3. In regards to racing, what is the biggest lesson you learned in 2014?
I have learned a ton this past season. The list could go on and on, but if I had to pick one thing it would be to not get inside my own head while out on track. When you make a mistake it can sometimes be difficult to recover immediately from it.
4. What is the coolest thing a fan has ever done for you?
I’ve had a lot of fans do some really neat things. If I had to pick one, it would be when a fan of mine won the auction of my helmet last year with all of the proceeds going to the Autism Society of America.
5. What is your favorite race track and why?
Barber Motorsports track is my favorite track as of now. It’s an exciting track to drive with the elevation changes and you couldn’t ask for much more beautiful scenery than the rolling hills of Alabama. Although, after the season opener at COTA I may have a new favorite…
