The garage area this morning was
tranquil. Teams were making last minute checks. I ran into Conor Daly chillin at the BHA golf cart. He was relaxing while checking sicial media on his phone. Up walks James Jakes with a towel to wipe the backseat on the golf cart. There was a light sprinkle this morning so he was drying it off. The atmosphere was calm, but in a few hours the tension will rise.
People were already having a good time out in the IndyCar Fan Village. There are plenty of cars to look at, wall climbing and other fun games to play. There’s a little of everything to offer race fans. Ryan Hunter Reay’s Indy 500 winning car was on display for fans. Let’s just say it was a popular attraction.
Needless to say , it’s a gorgeous day. The intensity is building as we get closer to the start. After all, this is where legends are made; Mario Andretti, AJ Foyt, Al Unser Sr and the list goes on. Who will add their face to the Borg Warner trophy? Stay tuned. Let’s enjoy today and soak it all in.
