We have now made our way to Barber Motorsports Park having completed the first part of the Winter Fest Championship at NOLA Motorsports Park.
The NOLA event was the first ever race in a USF2000 car for me and it was a totally new experience. The goal for that event was to learn as much as possible and make as much progression as we could during those two days.
Team Pelfrey had a really good year in the F1600 Championship Series last season where we brought the championship home – plus covered the rest of the podium with my teammates Garth Richards and Augie Lerch. With most of the foundation being the same again this year, I feel like we have a really good platform to build from. At NOLA, we demonstrated that we are making good progress and we brought home a decent result with P8 in the final race.
The focus going forward for the next event here at Barber Motorsports Park is the same; to learn as much as possible by everyone pushing each other in the team, but also to find the limits in the Cooper Tire USF2000 Powered by Mazda car. The more we learn here the better prepared we will we be for the official season opening in my home away from home town, Saint Petersburg, Florida at the end of March.
But right now we are all crossing our fingers that the snow will stay away so we can go racing!
