Adrian Starrantino completed his rookie year in the USF2000 Series in 7th place in the championship. He drove for Jay MotorSports. He won race 2 at the Indy Grand Prix. Here are Adrian’s answers to 5 questions:
1. Who is your toughest competitor on the track?
My toughest competitor on track would most likely be Jake Eidson. We have raced together from Skip Barber, F1600 Championship Series, and this past season in the USF2000 Championship. Though he was a bit quicker this season, he has always pushed me to my limits and to keep calm and collected under moments of pressure, especially when we ran together in F1600 Championship Series.
2. Outside of motorsports, what is your favorite sport to watch?
The only thing that I watch other than racing would be the XGames. My favorite category in the Summer Games is the Big Air Competition, and Snowboard Street Cateogry in the Winter Games.
3. In regards to racing, what is the biggest lesson you learned in 2014?
The biggest lesson I learned in 2014 is to take positives out of every weekend no matter how each weekend may go. Keep your head down and keep pushing.
4. What is the coolest thing a fan has ever done for you?
The coolest thing a fan has ever done for me was make me a little rubber-band bracelet and a drawing on a piece of paper that said “Adrian, just believe in yourself” following one of the toughest weekends in my 2014 season.
5. What is your favorite race track and why?
My favorite race track is the newly designed road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Picking up my first win in the USF2000 Series there helped but it is a very fun track to race at. It has a good mix of corners and very many good passing opportunities which makes for good racing.
