Peter Portante finished 6th in the championship in the USF2000 driving for ArmsUp Motorsports. Here are Peter’s answers to 5 Questions:

1. Who is your toughest competitor on the track?

My toughest competitor on track has to be Daniel Burkett. Oddly enough, even though he is far from my best friend he is the only person in the paddock that I have ever driven against in road racing that forces me to push harder and work harder for an overtake. And when I look back at it and take away the pressure and in the moment emotion, it has been the best racing I have had in my Road Racing career. We both drive at the absolute limit of what the rules are and when I have a battle with him I feel like I am racing on the finest line of legality and aggressive driving, and that is how racing is supposed to be.

2. Outside of motorsports, what is your favorite sport to watch?

The Puppy bowl… 100%. The work ethic of some of the players is truly inspiring.

3. In regards to racing, what is the biggest lesson you learned in 2014?

Finishing races is better for points than not finishing!

4. What is the coolest thing a fan has ever done for you?

He was so Cool, I always put one in my room during the summer! But in all seriousness the fans have been awesome. No matter what you’re doing they’re always there supporting me, and I can’t ask anymore than that.

5. What is your favorite race track and why?

Lime Rock Park. It is the most epic track in North America for sure. Even though some people never learn the track layout, it comes in at 7 corners and 1.4 super fast mile(s). The layout is just conducive to fun, and you are always doing something, and doing it fast, sideways, and in the air!
