After three years away from open-wheel racing, Will Marotti and his newly-branded Marotti Autosport has brought PW Power Systems as an associate sponsor to the No. 18 Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan entry in 2020. The four-race deal will include the 2020 Indianapolis 500, and was first reported by RACER.
Marotti, a pastor in Connecticut, last competed in the NTT IndyCar Series with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports as an associate partner in 2016 and 2017. The team has a new website at MarottiAutosport.com and is actively building towards increased involvement year-over-year.
In 2016, the SPM-Marotti entry driven by Oriol Serivia finished 12th in the historic 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500, and the next year their effort with SPM placed 13th – this time serving as a partner on Mikhail Aleshin’s Honda.
PW Power Systems joins the IndyCar sponsorship circle in a four-race agreement to serve as an associate on Santino Ferrucci’s No. 18 Honda this year. The company serves as an entity of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and joins Marotti partner companies such as the Wasserman marketing and media group, Schaeffer’s Racing Oil, Redline Ace racing apparel, and existing Dale Coyne Racing partner Cyl-Del.
“We have enjoyed establishing a warm relationship with our new friends at PW Power Systems,” Will Marotti told RACER. “It means everything to us that we have earned their trust, and we are determined to make this a winning combination we hope will continue for a long time.”
