St. Pete had a bit of a rough start, not just for me but the whole team. We really had to work hard after the first and
second practice to make sure we had a decent car for qualifying. Things were looking good for us during qualifying we were in the top 5 for the majority of the session, but when we went to our second set of tires we didn’t get a good run at it because of the red flag that canceled out the last 5 minutes of the session. So we had to settle with a 6th place qualifying position. Race 1 went really well for us, we were able to pull off a top 5 finish and collect some good points, but we still were looking for more speed from the car.
Starting race 2 we were stuck back in 11th for our starting position. Unfortunately I got caught up in a turn 4 accident, made it back to the pits to change a front wing and was back underway. I was able to make it up to 10th and with 2 laps to go had contact and had to drive the last lap without a rear wing. Overall I learned a lot this weekend and am really looking forward to Phoenix where we were really strong in testing.
