The greatest day in motorsports has finally arrived. The Sunday before Memorial Day features not only the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600, but sandwiched between those two is the granddaddy of them all: The Indianapolis 500.
We are hoping to stay dry today with rain on the minds of nearly each of the 300,000 spectators expected to attend the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.
You will find a race preview here to check out if you are interested in that – this article will keep things short and give you the pre-race schedule and a peek at the weather predictions from AccuWeather.
Things are looking a bit dodgy on the forecast currently. Rain is expected in the morning hours – off and on between 9:00 and 11:00 AM – and then chances increase again after 3:00 PM. Scattered thunderstorms are expected, so hopefully the Speedway dodges some bullets today and we get all 200 laps in, uninterrupted.
For the full race day schedule, check out the rest of what you need to know before heading to IMS below.
