Registration for the 2024 Open-Wheels 500 is open!

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – With the days ticking down until the on-track action begins on November 4th, 2024, Open-Wheels Motorsports Sanctioning is excited to open up registration for the 4th running of the Open-Wheels 500 Mile Race.

To be held on November 23rd, 2024 after a one-year absence, the Open-Wheels 500 allows sim racers from around the world to fight alongside each other in the most authentic, dramatic, and immersive “500” experience in sim racing.

This year’s race promises to be the most exciting yet, with the iRacing IndyCar Community continuing to grow in strength of competition and qualifying expected to be even more nerve-wracking than before. Whether you’re a seasoned sim racer or a motorsport enthusiast, the Open-Wheels 500 is an event not to be missed.

The Opening Day of Practice will be held on Monday, November 4th followed by a further practice day on Wednesday, November 6th building to “Fast Friday” on Friday, November 8th. Pole Day qualifications will be held on Saturday, November 9th with Bump Day qualifications locking in the field of 33 on Sunday, November 10th.

Open-Wheels 500 takes place during the inaugural IndyCar ButtKicker iRacing Pro Series, drivers will have a one-week gap after qualifying weekend before having to turn their attention to race week. During race week, the 33 qualified competitors will have one final practice on Wednesday, November 20th to work on their cars heading into Race Day just 3 days later.

For interested participants, entries will be accepted between September 21 and October 21 by visiting https://Open-Wheels.com/Registration. Entries from all drivers are welcomed, and the entry form will be accessible until October 21 via Open-Wheels.com, the iRacing forums, the Open-Wheels 500 Discord, and Open-Wheels social media.
