Today, Open-Wheels.com is excited to announce a new coverage partnership which will see the site expand its reach into sim racing journalism in 2019 and 2020.

Over the next two years, Open-Wheels will provide recaps and analysis for the MYLAPS Indy Elite Series, one of the premier sim racing championships on the popular iRacing Motorsports Simulations platform.

“This is an exciting time for us at Open-Wheels, watching the popularity of sim racing and the popularity of our site grow concurrently,” said Tanner Watkins, the owner and editor of Open-Wheels.com. “This is a great opportunity for us to expand on an existing relationship with the MYLAPS Indy Elite Series and offer further coverage of sim racing – which I do believe is a viable form of entertainment in today’s age.”

The aforementioned partnership began with Open-Wheels’ coverage of the series’ own 500-mile race at Indianapolis this past May. The event was won by Jonathan Goke, and Zac Campbell won his first MYLAPS Indy Elite Series title that night.

“The MYLAPS Indy Elite Series is pumped to expand our partnership with Open-Wheels.com,” said league president Joe Branch. “Having them cover our series takes our league to the next level. It provides great exposure for the drivers and added exposure for our other partners.

“O-W is one of the best online news sites for all things IndyCar! We are beyond excited to fit in that portfolio.”

In this current agreement, Open-Wheels will provide race coverage for eight events in the upcoming fall 2019 season, and another eight during the 2020 calendar year. Coverage for the fall season kicks off with the championship opener on August 11 at Pocono Raceway.

The 2019 fall season of the MYLAPS Indy Elite Series will be composed of 12 rounds, with races from August to December. The series races primarily on Sunday evenings (with a Tuesday date in there as well on August 20) and an entry fee of $25 to participate. Each race in the fall season will be shown live on SYMTV.

The Indy Elite Series is being sponsored this fall by MYLAPS, a sports technology company that works with events, timers, athletes, and partners all over the world. Founded in 1982, MYLAPS has revolutionized the world of sports timing with groundbreaking innovations and set the standard ever since.
