Race Awards
Due to complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no race purse or cash prizes awarded at the 2020 Open-Wheels 500 presented by Mitchell Transmissions. Open-Wheels Motorsports Sanctioning does not find it ethical to pursue any funding outside of the monies required to offset operational expenses during the month of November, thus all awards shown below will not carry a cash value and there will not be a race purse in 2020.
The race winner will still receive the traditional milk bottle with the race logo and year inscribed on the face, as well as a tribute on a singular trophy that Open-Wheels Motorsports Sanctioning is planning for the future. Stay tuned!

Presented to the winner of the Open-Wheels 500, shipped directly to the driver who becomes this year’s champion.
PIT LANE PARLEY POLE AWARD
Awarded to the fastest entrant after Day One qualifications at the Open-Wheels 500.
FRONT RUNNER AWARD
Awarded to each front row qualifier at the end of Day Two qualifications at the Open-Wheels 500.
“ON THE BUBBLE” AWARD presented by PIT LANE PARLEY
Awarded to the 33rd-fastest qualifier at the conclusion of Open-Wheels 500 qualifications.
“TOP STARTING ROOKIE” AWARD presented by PIT LANE PARLEY
Awarded to the fastest rookie qualifier after the conclusion of Open-Wheels 500 qualifications.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD
Awarded to the highest-finishing rookie in the race.
WORKHORSE AWARD
Awarded to the entrant with the most laps completed in official Open-Wheels 500 practice sessions.
MAJORS GARAGE HALFWAY CHALLENGE AWARD
Awarded to the entrant who leads the 100th lap scored in the race.
MITCHELL TRANSMISSIONS FASTEST LAP AWARD
Awarded to the entrant who posts the fastest lap in the race.
LEADERS’ CIRCLE AWARD
Awarded to the entrant who leads the most laps in the race.
MAJORS SERIES MOST IMPROVED POSITION AWARD
Awarded to the entrant who improves the most positions from race start to race finish.
PIT STOP COMPETITION WINNER
Awarded to the entrant who wins the Pit Stop Competition feature race.
VETERANS 100 WINNER
Awarded to the entrant who wins the Veterans 100 race.
OPEN-WHEELS “LAST BUT NOT LEAST” AWARD
Awarded to qualifiers in the 11th row at the conclusion of Open-Wheels 500 qualifications.
