SEPTEMBER 25, 2020 – After receiving praise for coverage of last year’s inaugural Open-Wheels 500, RaceSpot TV and Open-Wheels have expanded their efforts to nearly double the amount of live on-track content for the upcoming 2020 event.
Compiling live broadcasts from RaceSpot TV and the newly-formed Open-Wheels TV channel on YouTube, the two partners plan to produce more than 80 hours of live content throughout the Month of November. The coverage slate culminates in the 2020 Open-Wheels 500 presented by Mitchell Transmissions, shown live on Sunday, November 15 on RaceSpot TV at 11:30 AM Eastern.
RaceSpot TV expands coverage plans for 2020 Open-Wheels 500
RaceSpot TV continues to serve as the primary broadcast partner of the Open-Wheels 500, and will include not only the traditional three-hour show on race day, but also returns with final-hour coverage of both Pole Day (November 7) and Bump Day (November 8) qualifications.
While those five hours of programming remain unchanged from the 2019 event, RaceSpot TV has upped their game to include a special one-hour show dedicated to the Qualifications Draw on Thursday, November 5 as well as two hours of coverage for Veterans 100 qualifications on Friday, November 13.
But that’s not all – RaceSpot TV currently stands to produce live coverage of the Veterans 100 race as well as the Pit Stop Competition on Saturday, November 14, bringing their overall total streaming hours to 10 and ½ over the two weeks of racing. The November 14 coverage slate is to be confirmed at a later date, so stay tuned for the full offering of streaming options during the Day Before the 500 festivities.
Debut of Open-Wheels TV brings more than 70 hours of on-track action to life
Following positive remarks of last year’s live practice streaming options on Twitch, Open-Wheels has decided to further invest in daily practice coverage while bolstering production value for the daily practice show Today at the 500.
This fall, Open-Wheels will debut Open-Wheels TV, a revamped streaming option from Open-Wheels which will offer livestreaming of each practice during the 500 Mile Race, a new offering of Today at the 500 that moves from its traditional audio-only show to a full-fledged video format, 23 hours of qualifications livestreaming with behind-the-scenes race control audio, and even the Public Drivers Meeting on Saturday, November 14.
Tanner Watkins will return as host of Today at the 500 while also providing commentary through scheduled segments on practice day broadcasts to provide a more in-depth viewing experience for those who wish to follow along in the action.
Open-Wheels TV can be viewed at the official Open-Wheels YouTube channel by visiting Open-Wheels.com/OpenWheelsTV. Live broadcasts and broadcast archives will be stored on the Open-Wheels YouTube channel for future viewing for individuals who would like replays of all telecasts.
