Practice for the 2019 Open-Wheels.com 500 Mile Race presented by Mitchell Transmissions opens in just three days – but that doesn’t mean the list of companies interested in partnering with the event is slowing down!
Open-Wheels is proud to announce that Tinker Street Restaurant and Wine Bar has joined the established portfolio of race partners for our 2019 event.
“Today I am proud to reveal one of my favorite partnerships we have built during the process of planning for the Open-Wheels 500,” said Tanner Watkins, the owner and editor of Open-Wheels.com – as well as the president of the Open-Wheels.com 500 Mile Race presented by Mitchell Transmissions.
“Tinker Street Restaurant and Wine Bar is an exciting venue located in Indianapolis’ Herron Morton neighborhood which Indy residents should be proud of. From a diverse selection of wines and brews to extravagant meals and desserts, I can’t wait to sample what Tinker Street has to offer on my next trip to Indianapolis.”
“Tinker Street” is a nod to 16th Street’s name during the dirt-road days of the 1800s. The restaurant’s dinner menu changes with the seasons to take full advantage of the flavors of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are abundant, and clearly marked on the menu.
For Tinker Street co-owner Thomas Main, the decision to partner with the inaugural Open-Wheels 500 comes from a lifelong joy of the Indianapolis 500.
I was 10 years old when my mother took me to my first Indy 500. It was also her first! The year was 1967 and I have been hooked on Auto Racing and of course the 500 ever since,” said Main.
“I am now 62 years old, and I have been to 49 of the past 52 Indy 500’s. I am totally psyched to witness the inaugural Open-Wheels.com 500 Mile Race… It will be awesome fun for all involved!”
Tinker Street is located at 402 East 16th Street in Indianapolis, and can be contacted via phone at (317) 925-5000. The restaurant is open from 5 to 10 PM on each day except for Sunday, and requires guests to be 21 years of age or older.
