Today, Open-Wheels is proud to announce that Mitchell Transmissions will become the presenting sponsor for the inaugural 500 Mile Race, to be held November 17, 2019.

The family-owned business becomes the first announced partner for the event, which will be held annually each fall featuring competition on the popular iRacing Motorsports Simulations platform.

“I could not be more pleased to formally announce Mitchell Transmissions as the presenting sponsor for our first running of the 500 Mile Race,” said Tanner Watkins, owner and editor of and the president of the 500 Mile Race.

“My greatest thanks goes out to the Hall family – Jerry and Tammy – for supporting our inaugural event with this sort of commitment.  Their background in motorsport serves as a perfect tie-in to this venture, and the work that they do out of their Newburgh-based shop has served the Tri-State area for years.  They are a worthy partner and one that I look forward to promoting over the next four months.”

An established business in southern Indiana, Mitchell Transmissions has over three decades of experience to help service the needs of many makes and models.  Their affiliated entity, Firecracker Performance, even services and builds transmissions for motorsport competition.
